With no league game last Saturday, the 3rds entertained an XI from Oxford and Bletchington Nondescripts on Sunday and managed to beat the occasional shower. Thame were put in and stuttered to 138 all out after only using 28 of their 35 overs. Tom Hook made 56 on debut, Sam Nicholls 29 and Jonathan Hook 24 not out. Salim took 4-31 off his 7 overs, including a hat-trick.
In reply, Thame kept their bowling tight initially, with Robbie Jackson leading the way (7-2-9-1), supported by Justin Avery (2 wickets) and Jonathan Hook (7-1-17-0). However, once the OBNCC openers were dismissed, the club’s overseas player came in and hit a quick-fire 54 to wrest the advantage, as they reached 142 for 5 after 30 overs. Thame 3rd XI entertain Buckingham 4ths on Saturday, at Lord Bills Upper School ground.
