During the winter months, some of the club’s junior players continued their development at the Oxfordshire Cricket Pathway. Each season the club is invited to nominate our most experienced junior players to join the pathway. This year we nominated 17 players across Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 to join a 10-week training and selection programme. They joined other players who were nominated by their clubs based in Oxfordshire.
At the end of the 10 weeks a 1st team squad is selected by age group from the best of the best players in Oxfordshire.
We are delighted to share the news that of the 17 players nominated, 13 have been selected for 1st team action:
U13s (Year 8) Boys: 5 players
U13s (Year 8) Girls: 1 player
U12s (Year 7) Girls: 2 players
U12s (Year 7) Boys: 1 player
U11s (Year 6) Girls: 2 players
U11s (Year 6) Boys: 2 players
Congratulations to all the players that were nominated and thanks to the club coaches that have put in so much hard work in helping these kids develop at the pace they have throughout the year.
During the outdoor 2025 season we look forward to hearing about their progress and seeing them play in some of their Oxfordshire matches which will hopefully be hosted at TTCC.
Year 8 is generally regarded as the earliest point at which Juniors can join open age (adult) cricket. We look forward to seeing those kids who feel ready for it, joining in with the 4th XI league games and Saxons friendly matches at TTCC this year. This ‘batch’ of Year 8s are amongst the strongest the club has produced in recent times and if we can keep them together, I foresee great things happening for them and the club in the future…watch this space!
