With 3 players making their Thame Town CC debuts, a good bowling performance restricted a confident Aston Rowant batting line up to a net score of 257. The team took 11 wickets between them with Zack, Max, James, Archie and the days captain, Jimmy, all taking two wickets and some excellent fielding, in particular from James C.

Despite a positive start from Zack and Luke, we lost a few too many wickets when batting and ended up with a net score of 221, losing by 36 runs. Man of the match on his Thame Town debut was Luke for his excellent batting in particular.

The U9’s took to the field again on Sunday 19th May in bright sunshine at home to Chearsley. Despite having 6 players who hadn’t played for Thame Town before, some excellent bowling and fielding restricted the vistors to a net score of 212. Both Rory and James W took two wickets in two balls but missed out on a hat trick. Jack, Albie, Joah and Jimmy also took a wicket each and the excellent fielding was capped off by a superb diving catch by Joah.

An excellent all round batting display, with excellent running between the wickets, saw us reach a net score of 302 for a comfortable victory. Special mention must go to Oliver, Rory, Albie and Joah for their brave batting against a genuinely fearsome U9 bowler and to James and Jimmy whose brutal hitting saw them score 35 and 30 runs respectively. Skipper James was named man of the match for his all round display and positive leadership.
