Friday saw a busy evening at the club with around 120 children participating in our All Stars and Dynamos programme, our growing Thame Girls U9 and U11 groups enjoying training plus an Under 13 game against Dinton. Great to see so many parents and supporters enjoying the sunshine, our wonderful location and well stocked bar.
Our U13 team bowled and fielded well to restrict Dinton to 29-2 off the first 10 overs, it was only an excellent 50 from their number three which allowed them to accelerate and post 76-5 off their 20 overs. TTCC were always ahead of the rate and with an opening stand of 45 between Lewis Y and Stan R we always looked likely winners. Sam H and Josh L guided us home with 4 overs and 6 wickets to spare.
The day before, 8 of the Thame U13 squad had played in a victory for Lord Williams’ School U12s against the very strong Dragon Prep School. The Dragons scored 111 with 3 wickets for Sam H and 2 for Hector DH. In response, Lord Bills reached 82-0 including 30 retired from Stan. Harry D scored a useful 14, but wickets tumbled and 3 were still needed with last man Hector DH and a returning Stan back in. Hector hit the winning 4 to complete an unexpected victory for LWS (and Thame Town CC!).
