Sunday 7th May 2023 – League match away to Tiddington
A good win for Thame U11 vs Tiddington, in our first Oxfordshire league Pairs match of the season. Tiddington scored 236, having lost 6 wickets, and TTCC scored 255, after losing 4 wickets. Rory Eames top scored on debut with 12 not out and produced an excellent run out. Fred Sims took 2 for 8, while Josh Lowe also played well on debut with 1 for 0, in his spell, and 4 not out. A promising start to the season for all!
Monday 1st May – Oxfordshire County Pathway
The Oxfordshire Cricket Pathway continued last week with the start of a series of outdoor games, designed to give the Under 11’s practise and experience of the various formats. 30 boys – including 6 from Thame, played in a Hundred format tournament at Warborough, with everyone playing 2 games. All our bowlers impressed especially Daniel Tilley who bowled beautifully and picked up 2 wickets. Sam Holmes, Harry Doig, Lewis Yeung and Hector De Haan all picked up one wicket each, with wicket keeper Stan Rice taking an excellent stumping. The batting was a bit more of a mixed bag, with the pressure of getting quick runs in the Hundred format making for riskier stroke play. However Sam Holmes played well and was retired after being not out after 20 deliveries in the first game.
In total TTCC U11s have 10 County hopefuls in this age group who have made it through to the final stage of selection which continues over the coming weeks.

TTCC U11s (Year 5 & 6) practice on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. We have a squad of 22 boys and girls who play in two Oxfordshire cricket league competitions with matches being played on Sunday mornings. The team is coached by 4 ECB qualified volunteer coaches and the clubs Overseas professional. There are regular social events throughout the season including a trip to Lords for the T20 Natwest Blast in June.
