Members put in fundraising efforts during lockdown

During the current Coronavirus lockdown, some of our members have been getting involved in charitable fundraising. Check out their stories below – any contributions would be greatly appreciated!

Shay Reading and his work colleagues have been attempting to ‘get to New York by Friday in time for a beer’ by running 3,462 miles collectively – the distance from their Paddington office to their office in New York – all in support of the people on the frontline of Covid-19. This is equivalent to 7,311,744 steps and 560 hours of running between a few hundred colleagues. Please donate in support and help them reach their £10k target! The company will then match the final donation raised. Shay personally aimed to run 50k in contribution, and at last count had achieved 55!

Rob Johnson ran a quiz last week for The Ruth Strauss Foundation, in lieu of what would have been Rob’s attempt to run the London marathon on the Sunday. Rob’s quiz is still available for viewing on YouTube here, and sharing is encouraged! In memory of his late wife, former England Captain, Sir Andrew Strauss, launched The Ruth Strauss Foundation to provide emotional, psychological and wellbeing support to patients and their families going through a similar experience, while also funding research into rare lung cancers. Rob is aiming to raise 2.5k – please donate and support!
