After taking inspiration from the recent U9s victory against the old rivals, on Tuesday night it was the U13s turn. Many of the team had already played an LWS school match earlier in the day and won that, so they arrived already pumped up and ready to go. Well done Boys!

5. Girls beat Wolvercote Away on Sunday 8th June (8 aside pairs hardball)
Thame 307-6, Wolvercote 305-5.
On Sunday, the Thame girls prevailed in an epic run chase – winning by 2 runs in the final over! After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the girls made early inroads with Ebony and Chloe picking up wickets in the first 4 overs. However, from then despite good bowling from the Thame girls, Wolvercote batted well throughout, with some positive and opportunistic running catching us off guard at times and occasional boundaries mixed in to see them reach a tough target of 305 (net) from 20 overs.
The Thame chase started a little 2 steps forward, 2 steps back – regular boundaries offset by losing wickets that was then settled somewhat with steady progress keeping us in the game. When the Florences came together after 12 overs they delivered some real impetus with positive running and some strong blows to the boundary to keep us in the chase! 16 overs gone – last pair Chloe and Olivia needing 41 off 4. “We’ve got this” – they certainly did – regular boundaries and aggressive running suddenly switched pressure onto Wolvercote and got the scenario down to 3 off the final over. Not to slow down now Chloe was determined to bring it home in style. After 3 swings and misses to get her eye in she crashed the 4th ball to the boundary and Thame into the lead – now just to stay there! The girls held their nerve sharing responsibility to see out the last 2 balls and clinch a brilliant win! A fantastic team effort with key contributions throughout!
6. Girls U11s Softball team beat Haddenham away by 49 runs on Tuesday 10th June
7. Boys U9s beat Chearsley Away on Sunday 8th June (8 aside pairs softball)
Thame 275-3, Chearsley 212-9.
This was a game won in the field with the boys best out-fielding display of the season. The bowling was straight and accurate, the catching faultless. One by one the boys kept outdoing each other – 2 crackers from Cooper on debut with the final highlight being Jack M’s take at mid-on.
The batting in reply was consistent and controlled with steady progress throughout. Rory S finishing the match off in style with a quick fire 20 off 11 balls.
