2019 – A Year to remember…

What a year 2019 has been for Thame Town Cricket Club! Thank you and congratulations to everyone who made this year what it was. Here are some of the highlights…

The ECB Awarded the club a 5-star rating for the All Stars Cricket programme in the Summer of 2018


The Women’s Team won the Oxfordshire Indoor League Division 2


The new nets were built and opened at Church Meadow
Mark Nicholl from our sponsors J. Bennett & Son, came down to cut the ribbon with Vice Chairman Angus Lachlan and overseas coach Jo Van Dyk


The U15s won the first ever competitive match in front of the new clubhouse


The Oman International Women’s side faced our Women’s Team at Church Meadow


The U13s reached the final of the Aylesbury league, held at Thame


An Oxfordshire County match was played at Thame for the first time in over 20 years
Versus Cheshire, Thame’s Callum Russell, Ollie Burland & Dan Patey featured with Ollie scoring a ton


The 3rd XI became Champions of Cherwell Division 8
Members of the squad attended the league dinner with Geoff Miller and were awarded the trophy 


The 1st XI were crowned Champions of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League Division 2, and will compete in the top flight next year


Thame rounded off the season by beating Oxford at Wormsley Estate to win the Wilf Bennett T20 Trophy


There were also several notable personal achievements including Ian McStay taking his 500th Cherwell League wicket, Megan Woodward won the Women’s Home Counties Division 2 Top Bowler Award, Gill Kelleher became the the first woman in the club to gain her Level 2 coaching qualification and Sally Patey was voted onto the Men’s Home Counties Premier League committee!
