Bill Cross

It is with great sadness we share the news that Bill Cross passed away in recent days. Billy was well known at the club and throughout Oxfordshire cricket, and will be missed greatly. Not only did he play for Thame he was also a Vice President, umpire and one of our biggest supporters.

His funeral will be held on Friday 3rd December.

The service is at 3pm at Oxford Crematorium, Bayswater Rd, Headington, Oxford OX3 9RZ. All are welcome. Family flowers only. Donations will be taken for Sobell House hospice.

A wake will follow at Thame Town Cricket Club, roughly from 4pm, depending on when the service finishes. All are welcome. Donations will again be taken for Sobell House hospice.

Thank you for this post. I’m Bill’s daughter.

My family have set up a Just Giving page in memory of my dad. The donations will go to Sobell House hospice in Oxford.

Sobell cared for my mum from her initial terminal cancer diagnosis to her death in the hospice. After her death, my dad volunteered weekly in Sobell’s admin office and tended to their gardens.

Sobell not only cared for my mum but looked after the family too, including my dad. We would love to give something back to them, just like Dad did. Any amount of money helps. Hospices rely on charity to keep going.

    Thanks for your consideration.
