1s held to draw despite Burland Century
Thame 1st XI travelled to Burnham, and after winning the toss chose to bat first. Ollie Burland (pictured below) made the most of a good surface as he carried his bat for a wonderfully controlled 105*. Hassam Mushtaq gave the innings some impetus at the end with a blistering 78 off just 47 balls, as Thame reached 260-5.
Burnham showed little intent in response, and were in trouble early, initially reduced to 40-4. However, on a true wicket, further inroads were hard to come by. Despite a battling effort, Burnham eventually finished 190-7 to secure a draw. Faisal Ali, Andy Russell and Mushtaq all took 2 wickets each.

Tough defeat for 2nd XI
The 2nd XI lost the toss and were put in on what proved to be a difficult wicket to bat on. The hosts made a decent start against Horley in a bid to get back to winning ways, however wickets soon began to fall as the middle and lower order collapsed. Thame were bundled all out for 99 – Christian Warwick top-scoring with 27.
Without making enough required breakthroughs, Horley comfortably chased down the target with the loss of just 3 wickets, Ali Thomas taking 2-13 alongside a Dan Patey run out.
The 2s travel to Banbury 3s next week, looking for a much needed win.
3rd XI extend lead at the top
The 3s hosted a young Challow & Childrey 3 at Lord Williams’ School. The visitors won the toss, and chose to field first. Thame started steadily, before the loss of the openers brought in Gareth Bridges for a fluent 51, then a strong partnership between Guy Holmes (68*) and Fahad Majeed (38) allowed Thame to declare after 43 overs on 201-4.
With 2 extra overs to bowl Challow out, Nick Humphries (5-15, pictured below) and Pete Tervet (3-14) ripped through the batting. Facing a heavy defeat, Challow’s 9th and 10th wicket partnerships were by far their best as Bint (92) got the reply to a more respectable 137 all out – Tim Hester taking the final 2 wickets.
The 3s travel to Brackley 2 next.
4s defeated by strong Cumnor side
Thame 4s travelled to Cumnor 3, looking to upset the hosts who are sitting 2nd in Division 9. Having lost the toss Thame were put into bat on a green wicket. Thame struggled to establish fruitful batting partnerships, with Nick Fuller (35, pictured below) the only batsman to dent the hosts bowling attack. Thame eventually posted 114 before their last wicket fell.
Cumnor, in reply, took just 20 overs to meet the target for the loss of 3 wickets, to take the win and 25 points. Neil Smith took 2-19.
