Thame 2nds storm to emphatic win

The 2nd XI were able to enjoy a relaxing tea yesterday, after finishing their game by 3.40pm against newly-promoted Didcot 2nds.

Winning the toss and asking Didcot to bat on a slow wicket, Chris Jeffcock (pictured right) took full advantage of the new ball, with figures of 4 for 6, off 10 overs, with 7 maidens. He was ably supported by Ian McStay (10-5-15-3) and at one stage Didcot were 21 for 7 after 19 overs. They recovered to 67 all out from 28.3 overs, with Winkle and Ali Thomas taking the remaining wickets, but had little prospect of a win.

Dan Patey (28*) and Andy Jinman (23*) duly polished off the runs, finishing on 71 for 1 in 12 overs. Thame 2nds entertain Abingdon Vale 2nds this Saturday at home.
