Thame under-11s complete the league double over MP Academy, with a 59-run win at Long Crendon on Sunday 25th.

Thame won the toss on Sunday and chose to bat in the sunshine and after a measured start, accelerated at the right time, reaching 113 for 1 (a run out) after 20 overs. Tom MacFarlane led the way with 26 (retired), with Luke Hayes (25, retired), Mack Copley (20 not out) and Daniel Laws (8 not out) leading the charge to their imposing total.

In reply, MP Academy were never in contention and lost wickets regularly, interrupted only by a short downpour, finishing on 54 for 7, after 20 overs. With 2 run outs, the 5 wickets were shared amongst Jack, Louis, Monty, Mack and Matthew.

The Under-11s are now looking forward to their last 2 league games – back-to-back matches vs Tiddington on July 2nd and 9th.

Thame Under 11s completed the double over Aston Rowant with a home win on Sunday 18th June

ARCC Under 11s were put into bat on a sweltering morning at Church Meadow and were cruising along nicely at the half-way stage, at 45 without loss, with Conor Rogan (retired 25) and Jude Coates (13) seemingly in full control. However, in the 11th over Theo Ransby

struck with 2 wickets on successive balls to rock back the Aston Rowant innings. Jacob Eaton (19 not out) then carefully guided the visitors to 82 for 5 after 20 overs, despite wickets from Will Beerling and 2 in successive balls from Mack Copley.

In reply, Thame lost wickets from the start and by the end of 10 overs, at 46 for 6, were looking like they would run out of batters, with Joe Davies and Arlo Hyman both bowling well for their 2 wickets apiece. Lewis North and Jude Coates also chipped in with one apiece.

Fortunately for Thame, skipper Luke Hayes was to prove the rock on which the innings was built (26, retired). After he had retired, it was then left to Theo Ransby and Will Beerling to steer Thame safely home, finishing on 84 for the loss of 7 wickets.
